The holiday home in Mattenweg is the ideal holiday location for families with children. The house has a lovely children’s playroom and a table tennis room. With its swings, sandpit and playhouse, children love the playground area in the large garden, which connects the holiday home and the chalet.

Plenty of space and entertainment for children

We can provide our guests with a baby bathtub, high chair, flannels, potty, large disposal bucket for nappies and a separate baby’s changing table. We can also secure the electric sockets in the apartments with safety covers on request. Prams, tricycles, toboggans and children’s carts are also available to guests with children.

In winter, a small range of alpine and cross-country skis is also provided for the children of our guests. The offer is limited, but can be used free of charge!

Hinterzarten and its surroundings offer an abundance of attractive excursion destinations for families with children, including the Europa-Park in Rust (Germany’s largest theme park), along with the swimming pool and spa centre in Titisee-Neustadt, a large-scale leisure and health water-themed facility.

Hinterzarten provides a constant programme of excitement to our young guests. Children can also discover the delights of the forest and nature by roaming the many “forest gnome” paths in the vicinity.

The closest riding stables with ponies for children are only 5 minutes away by car from our holiday home!

Evernius nature discovery trail in Hinterzarten

The Hinterzarten adventure trail invites you to actively explore and experience nature with all your senses. Playfully designed activities encourage your curiosity and understanding of nature and the environment. The trail is also suitable in sections for prams.

Thoma Ski Centre in Hinterzarten

The Thoma Ski Centre in Hinterzarten offers skiers three ski lifts and five downhill runs with a total length of 4 km illuminated by the largest floodlight system in the Upper Black Forest.

Treetop climbing park in Titisee Neustadt – (6 km)

Take an adventurous journey in the treetops of the Upper Black Forest. Master exhilarating tasks while moving from tree to tree on courses of varying difficulty.
The centre is located in the charming setting of Hirschbühl at Lake Titisee. After receiving your equipment at the log cabin, you walk along the adventure forest path, where you are informed about the surrounding nature and the courses in the park. A practice course enables you complete detailed safety training before you proceed to the excitement out on the courses.

An aquatic adventure and fun park for the whole family with attractions for all ages, such as 23 different water slides in the Galaxy slide universe or an oasis to relax in with real palm trees.

Steinwasen-Park bei Oberried – (28 km)

The Steinwasen amusement park is surrounded by large Black Forest mountains, which provide a unique natural backdrop to the numerous attractions on offer. The highlight of the park is the world’s longest adventure rope bridge on which you can cross the valley floor over a length of 218 metres at a height of 30 metres above the ground.

Further fun in the Steinwasen Park is guaranteed by two pacey summer toboggan runs, each 800 m long, with tight curves; the “Spacerunner” ride in the ice world; the ice grotto in “Schauinsland”; thrills in a simulator; “Riversplash” – a splashing white-water ride; “Gletscherblitz” – the breathtaking roller coaster and, for relaxation, the tranquil “Black Forest Railway”.
The “Luxi’s Kinderland” indoor park for children from two to 14 years offers a climbing park, slides, bumper cars, the “FunShooter” and “SpiderTower”. An age-appropriate toddler area and a lounge for parents to relax in round off the all-weather offering. In addition, more than 20 species of animals can be observed from natural, spacious raised stands.

Europa Park in Rust, the largest theme park in Germany – (60 km)

The Europa-Park boasts of over 100 attractions: the largest roller coaster in Europe – the Silver Star, a journey through space with Eurosat, a white-water ride, a Swiss bobsleigh run, a blue-fire mega-coaster, a children’s musical and the country-themed areas are just a small selection of the many delights. The indoor water world Rulantica with 17 water slides and many other attractions also opened at the end of 2019, adding to the huge variety.
